Mixer shower inlets leaking - a lot!

Apologies for resurrection this old thread but, I've recently come across a very similar issue with our Hansgrohe Ecostat Universal bar shower mixer (13122000) which uses the washers quoted by rules above. When I took the bar off these were buried in the nut mashed up as though they had been...

New central heating system. Odd behaviour (air?)

Hi all, I have a new build house with a new central heating system. Its a sealed system based on the Kingspan Tribune XE tank, and a Ideal Logic system boiler. The system has 3 heating circuits, one for the H/W and two central heating circuits one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I seem to...

    Drayton Digistat 3+ Accuracy issue?

No, I dont think you have misunderstood. Thanks for the response. I have no offset set on the thermostat and I don't want one. I was just trying to understand why sometimes even though my program is set to achieve 16c overnight, it will sometimes switch off the demand at 14-15c. I...

    Drayton Digistat 3+ Accuracy issue?

Hi, I wonder if someone can give me some quick advice, I have just replaced old Drayton Digistat 1 which decided to give up the ghost with a new Digistat 3+ and have noticed something weird with the new thermostat. It appears that when the temperature is rising with the demand on that the...

Worcester 27CDi - Is this normal operation?

Thanks for the responses, yeh. I will turn the boiler down when its up and running properly, the problem above exhibits itself at all the temp range, it just switches the burner off sooner. Going to ring Worcester today to just check the operation, then get the plumber back to look at it...

Worcester 27CDi - Is this normal operation?

Yup, that's pretty much what I understood it to be, bugger. Looks like I will get the plumber back.

Worcester 27CDi - Is this normal operation?

Hi, Just got a new Worcester 27CDi fitted replacing an ageing thermal store and small ideal boiler. The boiler seems very nice, DHW seems fine, boiler rund perfectly for that. I am slightly confused by the CH side of things. The rads are all heating nicely, and my existing TRVs are...

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Hmmm.. Is it ok to try using mains pressure through the pipes, with them being 10mm plastic fittings or is that asking for trouble? Also is it worth me trying to turn my central heating circulation pump around and pump the other way? Is it possible? Will it cause me more problems? The...

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Oddly, since putting the X400 in at lunchtime and running the system continuously, both of the radiators are completely stone cold now, lol worse than before! Nice!!!! :D I guess I probably made the blockage worse when I drained down again. Grrrr.

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will leave the X400 for a while then try the connecting a pipe trick. Is it ok to pipe mains pressure water into my open system, yes it does have an expansion tank in the airing cupboard above the main tank. (where I loaded the X400, and of course inhibitor...

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Hmm, looks like I will be leaving it broken then lol. No way I will be able to lift my floors and locate the blockage. :( Its laminate in the bathroom for a start. Pipes to the hallway are behind my plasterboard so thats a no no too without ripping my house to shreds. Its 10mm plastic...

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Yes, it says upto 4 weeks but is it likely to make much impact on a blockage, its not a complete blockage but it seems like it almost is. :(

Think I have blocked pipes in my radiator circuit.

Hi, I have been trying to get two radiators working for what seems like an age now. A bathroom one (upstairs) and the hallway one (downstairs). I have a total of 5 radiators in my house, bathroom, bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 (all upstairs). A living room one and a hallway one (downstairs)...

    Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) Faulty?

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I have tried turning all the other rads off and just having the bathroom one on, no help at all. I have also set the lock shields on the other rads to as they where before I messed with the system. It should be noted before the TRV in the bathroom the rad got...

    Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) Faulty?

Hi, At the weekend I replaced two radiators downstairs and while I had the system drained down decided to put a TRV on the bathroom red. Both other radiators upstairs already have them which I fitted a couple of years ago. The problem I have is that the bathroom radiator does not get hot...

    Power flushing

Fatty, I am in a similar situation with dreaded non-barrier plastic pipe, which was installed in the house some 14 years ago before it was a big no-no. 1. I am not sure you would get no corrosion, my dad with a complete copper system still gets corrosion although with plastic non-barrier...

Loft Insulation - boarding and B&Q covered stuff

Hi, I have been thinking of increasing the loft insulation I have. My house was built in 1994 and has about 3-4 inches of itchy stuff at the moment. I was thinking of boarding out a small portion of it just to store empty cardboard boxes etc, nothing heavy. If I do this and buy a load of...
