I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Yeah the boxing is all screwed in so can come apart if required. Other than that I really couldnt give a toss about any further rules and regulations. After this incident I learnt that its best to just ignore them all. :)

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

So you dont have to read through it all - It was all BG employed staff throughout. No subcontracting. BG were fully aware that this was on a forum as several of the folks that dealt with me looked it up first before turning up. I also refered them to it when I sent them my full letter of...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Hello there...remember me? :) Just thought I'd give an update after a few months of living with the BG install we had. So how has it gone? Well after we settled up with BG financially we did have a couple more issues. Both the radiators in the bedroom and living room had leaks near the...

BGas PT5 (Drayton RF3i?) Thermostat not playing ball

I've checked in the Airing cupboard and there is nothing in there with a green or red light on it. Just the combi and the pipes. What does the reciever look like? :?

BGas PT5 (Drayton RF3i?) Thermostat not playing ball

Folks, Now is the time of year to get the central heating ready and I've been trying out the new heating. Spent last night and this morning testing the new PT5 wireless thermostat with the 30CXi combi. I can set it up but it doesnt seem to link in with the boiler. I switch the heating on...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Just a quick note to say the matter is now closed. BGas have put right the heating system and it now works superbly. I was visited by one of the Customer Service managers to discuss compensation. They made an offer, I requested they amend said offer and if they agreed to this, I would...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Not as bad as boxing in a whole combi in the bedroom with all the other pipework that would have been required. In fact there is boxing on the other side of the room for the bathroom extractor so it will even it up. Looking forward to getting the decorating for the whole flat started.

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Well as I only paid £25000 for it ten years ago. Its not too much of a worry. Maybe not as bad as selling it with a 24 year old system encrusted in green limescale and no shower to speak of. Once I've got it boxed in I'll post up some more pics.

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Update. B Gas have been today and have installed the single flue system. It was touch and go at first (so my GF tells me as I was flying back from Glasgow at the time). The flue, whilst large is (in my opinion) a better compromise than the dual one. It doesnt leak and looks neater. We now...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Trouble is we've now experienced high pressue hot water on demand and we like it. At the end of the day my nerves are so frazzled I couldnt go through with having it all ripped out again and then having to clear up the mess then finding that install had problems too etc. etc. There are...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Well its all change. Seems they had an epiphany last night and realised that you can run a single concentric flue of 4". The Glowworm tech confirmed it and thats what we are going to do. So next week they will be back to remove the exisiting twin flue, fit the smaller single flue and...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

An update. Corgi rep came round on Wednesday morning. Nice chap, very thorough. He then told me things were not too great. He went through a list of faults and minor deviations and this resulted in the gas being turned off and red warning stickers being placed on the combi and gas main...

I really dont think this is quite what I expected....

Quick update. Refered this to Norfolk Trading Standards last night. Corgi phoned me this morning and they will be arranging an engineer to come round and inspect. Liam from BG rang me this lunchtime to tell me its been refered to their Field manager and they will be in touch shortly...

Ok, here are some more pics..... From the gas main- Up the wall and along- acros the wall- and in- close up of an existing overflow that they extended over the left for some reason (all the other flats versions of these are full of cobwebs)- the flue ends- the...
