Hot water in cold water storage tank....

OK - so we are going to go for option "B" to make sure that fixes the problem. BG are doing this as part of the homecare - so no cost. They won't fit a new tank. So, if it works then I will have a new tank installed next year - a much tidier solution. I tried switching off the supply to...

Hot water in cold water storage tank....

Surely if I cap off the connection between the two CWST's therefore each one would be working independently and the circulation could no longer happen? The only question would be that the power shower would then only draw from one CWST and I am concerned that there will not be sufficient...

Hot water in cold water storage tank....

I think you've got it!! CWST 1 feeds HWC 1 CWST 2 feeds HWC 2 Ball valve on CWST 1 to refill Draw to shower from CWST 1 Connection pipe between CWST 1 and CWST 2 to refill and ensure same level CWST 2 is the one that gets hot!! So would you just have another ballvalve on CWST 2...

Hot water in cold water storage tank....

This is driving me, and British Gas, crazy!! I have a vented system with two hot water cylinders in the loft. A cold water storage tank sits above each one - they have a connecting pipe to ensure the water is level. Each CWST feeds a HWC, and also feeds the power shower. All other taps in the...

PLEASE HELP - Water in the coldwater tank HOT!!!

Ok, so I isolated all 3 of the mixer taps downstairs, checked the washing machine and dish washer, both cold feed only. Filling loop is disconnected and still the pipe is getting hot, and hot water appears to be entering the CWS tank!!! Aaaaarrggghhh, this is doing my head in, my wife says I...

Unfixable - so what do you suggest?

I know Miele are expensive. But, they are running an offer on some of their washing machines with a 10 year warranty!! Factor the cost over 10 years , and it works out fairly cheap. 1st place I looked -...

I understand people are trying to help, and I am very appreciative that people have taken the time to respond - not sure what point you are trying to make? I understand why people are jumping to that conclusion, but I am still curious as to why when the boiler is turned down it doesn’t happen...

PLEASE HELP - Water in the coldwater tank HOT!!!

Yes NO If it happened with the previous boiler, which was a vented system, why should this be an likely cause of the problem?

PLEASE HELP - Water in the coldwater tank HOT!!!

I have a power shower fitted with a pump that comes from the top of the tank, as shown below. The pipe leading from the top of the tank to the hot water taps is hot all along, so no mains pressure into that. The other pipe leading from the top of the tank to the pump as in the picture...

PLEASE HELP - Water in the coldwater tank HOT!!!

2 bar Yes I'll check, but there are lot of pipes all over the house! Had a new boiler installed, but the problem existed before this. With the previous boiler we turned the hot water temperature down on the old boiler (you could control the heating and hot water temperature...
