Thats the correct way to bleed the pump, dont forget you are trying to bleed it of air. Keep the nut of for about a minute whilst running the pump, is it making a squeaky noise??. Check both isolating valves are open too!

I don't think so pump is working away, if i take the nut from the middle of the pump i can hear it moving and if i just rouch the pump 'wheel' with the tip of a screw driver i here the whirring sound you would expect and the pump doesn't stop?. I have adjusted the pump speed through all 3...

I think the heat exchanger is not filling, the boiler starts runs for a minute then switches off, this leads me to suspoect it heats the water present (which is probably not a lot) this reaches temp and the thermostat switches the boiler off. Does any one know how to prime a Potterton Profile...
