    whats the best washer to replace a leaking connection on an oil tank, rubber or nylon. Do the degrade?. Is it best to use a solid setting oil sealant or just PTFE? on the threads? also can you join 3/8 pipe to 10mm connections, do you use different olives ?. Thanks for help

    Overloaded cables, anyone seen any really bad ones?

    does the fact that T+E having earth in the middle add to safety (with RCD), if anything melts the first thing it should touch would be earth. Is this a reason why you use T+E rather than flexible cable?

    what i did on our doors was take the small cylinder magnets out of the holders, make a small cut in the tubular door seal and push the magnet into the seal - dabbed with some epoxy glue. have worked fine for > 1 year

    In an ideal world - money no object, in a TN-S system and a split oad board would it be best to have a 80A 100mA RCD in place of the incomer and the usual 30mA RCD for protected circuits. I presume this would be safer, is it worth the expense?

    fibreglass steps and ladders

    do these work?, can you touch live and not get a shock (if not touching neutral or earth or anything conducting to them). Also can you touch live with insulated rubber soled shoes or standing on a rubber mat. Obviously these are just additive safety measures but do they work?
