Ah Ha! So that's the reset button then!
Obvious once you know that it's disguised as a plastic threaded screw I guess! Not the thermostat that I had been proding then!
Problem solved. All working fine again.
Many thanks.
I thought it might have tripped because of the possible air lock, so I checked it. It didn't look as though it needed resetting.
I think I was looking at the right thing. Top right, near heat exchanger, black plastic with red dot in middle and something like three wires attached? Does this...
Hi all,
I am in the process of adding some new rads and pipework to the upstairs of my house. In order to replace the upstairs pipework I drained down my Worcester 240 today, leaving the downstairs in place for now and removing the upstairs pipes.
Over the last few months I have drained and...
Perhaps someone could clear this up for me please.
I am about to install a new lighting circuit in the upstairs of my new extension. This will include the lighting circuit for two bathrooms.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that lighting circuits could not continue on from bathrooms to...
I wonder if anyone could tell me what the regulations are concerning minimum distances of studwalls from fireplace openings please?
I am about to put in studwork for an ensuite in the corner of a bedroom in my victorian house.
The room has an open, but unused fireplace that I want to keep...
Hi all,
Can someone please confirm for me, if it is a requirement for 2 amp round pin sockets (with shutters), to be on the RCD protected side of the CU, or can they simply be a part of the normal 6 amp lighting circuit on the unprotected side?
Good idea, thanks. He threaded the old seals back through, but I might improve on them with a new bit of wire for a bit more protection as you suggest.
I had a replacement CU fitted today which in turn required longer tails. The Electrician who fitted it had to pull the service fuse and then also break the seal on the digital meter in order to fit longer and thicker tails.
Should I now be worried about having no seals on the meter and the...
Thanks for the new info. It looks from that link like the waterproof junction box under the bath is the way to go. The underneath of the bath will be boxed in, so from what I have read it will be 'out of zone'.
Does anyone have any other advice as to whether if I were to put the fan isolation...
Thanks JJ4091
I havn't got the bath yet, so I'm not sure what the current rating will be. But from what I gather they are usually put on a 5 amp fuse.
I was hoping to fit an isolation switch instead, to avoid having to have three pull cords in the bathroom. One for the fan isolator...
This is my first post, so please treat me gently (as everyone seems to say).
I'm doing the 1st fix on a self build first floor extension and would like to incorporate wiring for a Whirlpool bath. I have read most of the posts on this subject, but would appreciate knowing if what I propose...
