I was starting to think this way to be honest - it does seem really confused. Looks like a new machine then. I can't keep asking my dad to put our washing in his and he's moving back to Northumberland in a couple of weeks anyway. Oh well, the new bike will have to wait. Thanks for the advice.

Our WMA30 is stalling at the start of the cycle, regardless of the cycle chosen. It fills and sounds like it's going through the cycle for a bit, but the drum just sits there and makes a few groaning noises. Then it drains and does nothing more. It's drawing hot and cold water OK and draining...
