    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Hi guys, Finally got it diagnosed as a sluggish fan, which responded to proper cleaning and lubrication. Now I just have to decide whether to replace it, strip it down and try to fix it or risk it as it is! Thanks for all your help.

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Hi guys, Thanks for the suggestions. Some of these are things I don't want to mess with, so I have another CORGI coming to look at it this evening. Your help will mean that I can talk sensibly with him and make sure he is looking for the correct problems. I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks guys. If the fan was running slowly would it create a reason for the burner to cut off quickly?

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Sorry Tony, I'm not being clear enough. Before changing the pcb the boiler would not light by itself but bypassing the pressure valve would trigger the pilot but the sparking would continue and the mains would not light. After changing the pcb the boiler would not light by itself but...

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Thanks, Tony. It will run with the bottom cover off. I'm not trying to start it with the combustion chamber cover off. After fitting the new pcb and calling for heat the relays click and the fan starts (although perhaps quieter than I remember it) but no ignition. If I bypass the pressure...

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

We did generally check the voltages, air tubes and door last night. I'm not a CORGI so I'm not going to fiddle with those myself.

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Thanks, Baxmax. She had an operation three years ago but has never properly recovered. She has done a lot of strengthening exercises, gym, pilates, etc which has helped, but she still has really bad spells.

Changing this one didn't solve the problem, though. Any other thoughts?

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Changed the pcb but unfortunately it hasn't fixed the problem. Bypassing the pressure switch with a changeover switch gets the boiler to fire, but it then immediately cut offs again. I don't want to use the same CORGI guy (see above) again, so any suggestions as to what to check next? Thanks.

Thanks baxpoti. Would that cover all the problems?

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Thanks Tony. Yeah, he wasn't the most inspiring guy. The pilot lights if pressure is applied to the pressure switch manually or it is bypassed with a changeover switch, but it keeps sparking and the main jets don't light. The problem started with the fan cycling on start up but it would...

    Strange Prima problem, UPDATED

Hi all, I hope you can help me with this. I have spent two hours with a CORGI this evening trying to work out what the problem is, but we haven't been able to. Boiler is a Potterton Prima 60F. Its like this - Call for heat Fan starts (maybe not as loud as before, but that might be...
