    oil types

Going off at a tangent a bit. A lad I used to work with told me the gearbox oil for his little Fiat was only available at Fiat garages. I told him if he got the oil spec of the bottle, he'd likely find the oil elsewhere. He said no, only Fiat had it!

    Smart meter

I don't yet have a gas smart meter. The fella who services my gas boiler told me not to bother with a gas smart meter because of charging reconfiguration due over the next few years. My supplier is asking me to book a smart installation. Is that the way to go I wonder?

    Roku stick volume/standby buttons

I've been using my Roku stick, which has volume control, in a Technika LCD19-910. I tried plugging the Roku into a Panasonic TX-L32C2B and the volume and standby buttons don't get a response from the TV. Are functions on a HDMI stick dependent on the TV they're plugged into?

Bathroom chrome tap spout aerator inserts

Quite old taps, about 30 years. I serviced the basin hot tap valve yesterday and noticed the water flow was not as neat as the cold tap. Using a mirror, I saw the aerator, which seems to be an insert, was missing. The basin tap spouts measure 5/8" and the bath, 3/4". Could not see thread on...

    Bora front arm bolts

Common sense suggests if going to snap, they'll do so when being loosened. Just don't tighten them as much on reassembly.

    Bora front arm bolts

70Nm + 90° apparently - torque to yield bolts. So if reused, they could snap it seems.

    Compressor for tyres

The compressor was among the stuff in the garage I'm helping my aunt clear at her house. Just thought with a pressure gauge attached, it'd be handy for tyres. I have a corded 12v which I had to reseal with caulk last week when the hose seal on the compressor failed. Seems to be working now.

    Compressor for tyres

I've had it running and the pressure relief valve on the top opens if I block the output port so it won't get the pressure for a tyre.

    Compressor for tyres

This compressor was made to work with a spray gun. I'm wondering if its any use as a tyre inflator if I get a tyre gauge to fit.

Anyone got a set of these impacts? Rhombus inner arc design apparently. I'm certainly tempted. They'll go well with my Parkside impact wrench.
