    VW T-roc engine oil grade

16.03.2020 reg, 54k miles 1.0 petrol The oil selectors quote 0w30 (504/507) for 2018-20 and 0w20 (508/509) for 2020-21. For the reg, the local main VW confirmed 0w20. Some folk suggest 5w30 (504/507) for better wear protection. Can I ask what other TRoc owners use please? I'll be using a...

    Honeywell T3R expertise please

Having contacted Resideo and provided the part no for my T3R thermostat, they've told me that its not a retail product so only has four time/temp periods. Only the retail type have the six. I'm curious if mine is not a retail product even though it was supplied in a printed box c/w instruction...

Brake pad - stainless shim greasing

Really just want opinion on whether folk apply grease between pad and shims when the brake pad lugs are mounted in stainless shims. I use ceramic grease. The car is a 2023 Corsa and I noticed when inspecting the front pads for the first time today that they were running dry in the shims, still...

    Honeywell T3R expertise please

As an update, from my own research, the code I want is NP (number of periods) in the advanced menu. NP is set for 4 or 6. NP is not actually listed in the advanced menu and neither is 1LA which sets the language. I used code FS to do a factory reset but that did not loose the binding with the...

    Honeywell T3R expertise please

With the lcd backlight on, I can see the P5 and P6 on the display. I've queried it with Honeywell. I'll post back if I get a solution.

    Honeywell T3R expertise please

My T3R wireless thermostat, when set to Auto, has P1, P2, P3 and P4 for time/temp settings. Can this be changed through the settings to add P5 and P6 which I've seen in some YT videos? I've searched online for such a menu setting but no joy.

    Poor toilet flush

With the bowl clear, I dumped a couple of buckets of water into the bowl and both went through no bother at all so it seems the profile of the bend is the issue, IE, solids and paper being snagged by the sharp u bend.

    Poor toilet flush

    I'll investigate further.

    Poor toilet flush

Has been an issue for the nearly 4 years I've been in the house. Its a dual flush and when using the full flush, I keep the button pressed to empty the cistern. If flushing paper and solids, the bowl tends to fill and drain away slowly. The soil pipe top is in the attic and there's an AAV on it.

    Poor toilet flush

Its actually quite accurate. Mine too has a sharp bend on the upper of the bend.

    Poor toilet flush

The flush has bother getting rid of even a few sheets of loo roll. Having inspected the bowl's u bend, it has a rather sharp turn like the shown in the image that I got from a listing on SF. Is this the norm? Are there any brands that have a smoother casting in the u bend?

    2023 Corsa oil grade

01.2023 reg 1.2 petrol (EB2FAD engine) My post is for any owners of this model. What grade of engine oil are you using may I ask? The online oil selectors quote 5w30. The car's manual quotes 0w20, 0w30 and 5w30, presumably depending on the climate the car operates in.

    Correct use of automatic transmissions

I'm asking out of curiosity. When stationary in traffic, such as lights, should the transmission remain in D or be moved to N? My aunt has a 1994 Merc C220 and if in D, it will creep forward if the brakes aren't applied which in my opinion strains the car. From a YT video, it said an...

    Impact wrench trigger fault

Fixed! A broken wire (nipped) on a multiplug that plugs to the torque control pcb. Lidl didn't have any in stock for exchange and for what I've used the impact wrench to date, its preformed well.

    Impact wrench trigger fault

Parkside brand from Lidl. Got it earlier this year and has been fine and dandy. Started using it today and squeezing the trigger, its start/stop in both direction although if I slide the forward/reverse back and forth a bit, I can get a bit of spin. Battery has a full charge. Anyone had this...

    Shower curtain rail joint inserts

Having considered the application, some reinforced plastic pipe, about 11mm o/d, nipped and pushed in, will be suitable.
