I am having the same problem as SylvianGhost had. Replaced my wash hand basin in the bathroom two days ago. Isolated the cold water main and outgoing supply from the loft cold water tank. Emptied the Tank too.
Changed it all over but on reconnecting the water supplies I have lovely hot water...
