Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer - takes ages to dry

Its now been running for a while and seems fine. Strangely it was completely dry - metal on metal which i just don't think even sounds right so i lubed it with gear grease. If i were to offer any advice on putting the belt on :- Remove the spring from the tensioner wheel and get the belt on...

Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer - takes ages to dry

Last night it made a terrible noise - turns out the tensioner pulley has melted. I mush have put the belt on squint and its been running funny on the tensioner wheel. Silly design, of course nothing to do with my fiddling with it... Any tips for getting the belt on the new tensioner correctly...

Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer - takes ages to dry

2 weeks after the stripdown and rebuild if im totally honest it has done little if anything to the time it takes to dry a load of washing. The only way i could tell would have been to collect power and water volume data. Here was me expecting at least a "noticeable" difference. I seem to...

Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer - takes ages to dry

Well i couldn't even get into the pump housing without dismantling everything. I managed to get it open, drum out and into the heat exchanger chamber without unhooking the front of the machine. It meant i didn't have to take all the wiring apart. As expected it was full of rubbish and i removed...

Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer - takes ages to dry

Hi, I have a Hotpoint heat pump condenser dryer and its takes ages to dry a load (well i think so anyways but haven't measured it). Its about 10 years old and ive not paid much attention to cleaning the secondary filter in front of the condenser itself. Before ripping the whole thing apart...

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

I finally managed to get Evo-home and my boiler to work together. Using the gateway arduino shield i can manipulate the OT commands, but let most of them pass through. It required quite a bit of faffing, 2 types of "arduino" and a bit of c++ coding, but i got there in the end. If anyone has...

    Installing a Vertical Radiator

Do make sure its sized correctly for the room at the ΔT your heating system is set to. Eg my condensing systems is ΔT 40°C so look at the correct heat output for the rad and ensure it throws enough heat out. My tiny bathroom needed a 6ft double vertical rad  , i cant imagine what size it...

Memory stick loses files but not folders

Sounds like the file table has been corrupted. I have recovered files from a stick before using a raw data reader then a recovery tool on a pc.

    Balancing fully zoned heating required?

It gives you a zoned sensor else you would need to connect something else to the stat to indicate conditions in the zone. From my understanding they remain fully closed until there is heat demand. I hear them opening when it starts. I can see how much each is open by checking the system status...

    Balancing fully zoned heating required?

I figured balancing was 3 fold in function 1 regulate delta t across the radiator 2 equalise flow rate across all radiators 3 regulate noise I wonder what the effect of opening them up would have on a zoned system that modulates with heat demand. I may test it and see how it behaves. The evo...

    Balancing fully zoned heating required?

Hi, I recently installed an evohome system and have created 8 zones - one for each radiator. As the flow is regulated by the evohome trv, should i now open all the lockshields? Thanks Graeme

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

Update: Vokeras OT control allows the setting of the CH max T and climatic curve (also DHW T) and Evohome doesn't afaik. This means my boiler gets face meltingly hot and exits condensing mode on ramp up in the morning. I really don't see why it gets to 80... yes 80°C. Its quite frankly...

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

With the help of a friend, I managed to obtain a vokera OT control, set the DHW temp then hot swap it for the Honeywell OT. The boiler has retained the DHW setting and functions with the Evohome now. Im happy i managed to get it all to work in the end and Mrs B is happy, not freezing :). Shame...

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

Im willing to give it a go yeah. In my tests it resets after a reboot of the boiler so i will need to get a cheapo vokera OT and give it a bash. They don't seem to appear much on ebay, but i will have a wee look again today and see what i can find. Hope you have a good day today and thanks...

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

when you look at vokeras OT controller it can set the DHW temp. just why? i can only presume that because it doesnt get a signal it defaults to very safe and cold with honeywells OT system. ways i can see round this so far: Get a vokera OT controller and set the DHW then switch it over...

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

Hi, The option seems only to be active if you have a cylinder with a sensor on it. I have a combi boiler so its not active on my evohome controller. Thanks though

    Evohome - opentherm and Vokera

Hi, Just purchased an evohome system with the opentherm interface (R8810A). When i wire it up to my Vokera vision 30c, it sets the DHW temp to 38°C and there is no way to control this using the evohome controller? Any ideas, im stumped and back to using a BDR91 relay for now or the missus...
