    Laying one floorboard

Any advice on the best way to do the following? I have removed a load bearing wall between kitchen and dining room. the dining room has old pine floor boards. The kitchen floor was dug up, concreted and screeded and finished with tiles. Where the wall was there is now a gap about 1500mm...

    Angle beads rusting through plaster

Interesting! I suppose my issue is that the window recess is only going to be part-tiled but the whole length of each of the angle beads is rusty. I like the plan of squaring off the edges that will be tiled over, but what about the area above the tiles (approx two thirds of the window...

    Angle beads rusting through plaster

Thanks Micilin. I was thinking hammer and chisel to get it out, replace, and probably use ready mix plaster to make good, or maybe just some filler depending on how much plaster comes off. I don't think the builder realised just how much the beading had rusted. He said to wire brush it...

    Carpet Gripper and Underlay

Excellent, thanks mattysupra. One more thing...! The gripper on the stairs goes acroos each tread and riser, does it need to go 'up' the riser and 'along' the tread, close to the wall edge and also the edge of the stairs? Sorry for being dense, and thanks again for your help. Tom

    Carpet Gripper and Underlay

Ayone offer some advice/instruction for fixing gripper and underlay to stairs? 1) I understand the gripper goes on the tread and riser, with roughly 1/4 inch gap. Does it also go along the edge of the stair, just as you do the edge of a room? 2) Can i glue underlay to the concrete floor...
