I have seen them resoldered.
You'll need to reconnect the boiler and app if you replace it.
Not sure if the new black version is on general release yet? @Razor900?
All of the Internet controlled systems we supply are locally controlled first and foremost.
I use many cloud services, by it I sure as schit don't use ones that are essential And have to have a connection to work.
The cloud is a backup resource no more no less.
Cheeky :p... Not a regular situation this one. I only did the cylinder, boiler and controls. All other plumbing and whatnot is done by others - and done well.
Each pir wired to a time delay relay set to say 15 minutes should overcome this
Or a simple time clock set to an hour in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.
There's always the risk of over thinking a problem ;)
They were replacing this old Satchwell:
And the maintenence man wanted something he could fix off the shelf. Bear in mind that was 1½ and 2" steel pipe and the church had a phuk tonne of fan coils and old panel rads so needed a good old flue rate.
This church set up a few years ago got the juices flowing:
But, as per @Razor900, once all the unnecessary stuff was stripped out, all this was was an splus plus without the hot water....
Did the lot with a honeywell control pack.
I still remember the very job in Highgate some 18 years ago where I had this epiphany. It was like the clouds parting in the sky. Before that I used to look at junction boxes with a sense of dread. Now it's all gravy.
We should do a line up of the worst junction boxes we've opened up.
One...
Read all the books you can, go on all the manufacturers training you can.
Don't be afraid of new stuff.
Join forums and get involved rather than lurking in the background.
Go to the Baxi training and the Honeywell training. Companies like IMI do interesting training days too. Vokera do...
It's an interesting one... You'd need to trace the brown wire from the zone valve back through the cylinder stat and into the "wherever". The cylinder stat is picking up 230V from somewhere (it has a permanent live in it which can flummox some installers).
Whilst possibly not a complicated...
