we were away and the water went a few times the heating may have been on by one person in the house would this have caused the problem whjen no water

i opened it and the only thing i can see is a black rubber that cases a red plastic button that has a cross over it and when i press it it does nothing looks like theres no spring in it oits limp , when i turn on boiler theres is a noise of something running and then u here a click but nothing...

help when i turn switch on theres a click and nothing happens

Can anyone tell me or show me in a diagram were the reset button is on this make as i can not see it anywere and how long do these boilers last before u must get a new one ?/ thank u
