    Boiler + Pump staying on

    I really appreciate your help and advice. I'm no expert on boilers but I do know my electrics (although my qualifications are 25 years old now) and the whole wiring here baffles me. I have, however, restored all wires to their original setup and the system (with new programmer) is working...

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    I 'think' I've found the cause - the frost stat. I have just confirmed with a cirtuit tester that the cable two live feeds to the boiler are only 'common' when the frost stat closes. The dial was set at 10 degrees and since it's been getting slowly colder resently, it must have been...

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    Thanks Chris. I managed to get this photo from inside the cover ... sorry it's a bit dirty but I have tried to clean it up. I'm more confused now as my pump is connected to my junction box and not fed from the boiler.

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    We had a rewire about 3 months ago without any boiler issues since - I will check it anyway. I removed the permanent live from the junction box (not boiler). The switched live behaved itself - i.e. only came on when HW was called for. It's definately a 52 The number is 41.315.45

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    Does anyone know where I can get wiring diagrams for a 'Glow-Worm Space Saver'? The diagrams inside the boiler cover are so old I cant read any of it.

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    Ok, I've done some more checking. I have elliminated the programmer, and pump (by removing their connections). The switched-live supply to the boiler is not connected to anything yet it is still live. Is it possible that the permanent live and switched-libe inside the boiler have shorted...

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    To the best of my knowlegde, this is the current wiring - although I'm not convinced it is correct. With the programmer disconnected from the system completely, there is a live on the HW signal. I can only assume it's coming out of the boiler - which again seems very odd. How can I find out...

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    I dont think my wiring or plumbing is 'standard' ... The programmer has been replaced but even with it disconnected, the HW signal is still live! The valve is a two-way which just controls the CH. There is no cylinder thermostat.

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    The valve is a Honeywell V4043 (H1007). I have posted details of the plumbing on a previus thread and I think it's a very old design. The pipe from the boiler goes to the pump which then goes to a 'T' junction (going up+down). Up goes direct to the hot water cylinder (no stat), Down goes to...

    Boiler + Pump staying on

    I have a 'Glow-worm SPACE SAVER 52' boiler which stays on after the CH/HW signals have stopped. I do not have any wiring dagrams for this boiler. This fault only occured a few days ago and I originally assumed it was the old programmer stuck on (Danfoss 3060) but I have now replaced it with a...

    Wiring query for Gravity system

    Thanks for that. The re-wiring is not a problem - I can fit the new programmer. At the moment, I dont feel confident to do any major plumbing so I may leave that part until next summer and give it a go. My plumbing skills are slowly growing. I have replaced/extended some existing...

    Wiring query for Gravity system

    For what it's worth, here's what I think my plumbing looks like ... A pumped system with a zone-valve for CH. No control of hot water temperature - apart from internal to the boiler. We tried to move the dial on the programmer yesterday and it's now jammed in the CH+HW always ON which has...

    Danfoss Randall 3060 --> Drayton Tempus 7

    Chris: My concern is that a programmer may give out the CH signal and not the HW - depending on my wiring and plumbing, this could turn on the boiler without the pump. I have ordered the Sunvic 207XL and I'll tidy up the wiring at the same time.

    It certainly is a wiring centre - thats the first thing I'll tidy up. "c plan" - can you expand on this please? but, the 3060 is horrible and expensive - I want something better.

    Danfoss Randall 3060 --> Drayton Tempus 7

    B&Q only have a small range of programmers but they do have a 'replacement' chart which lists all of their product range and a list of older/other units that they replace. It seems that (as far as B&Q are concerned) the Tempus 7 is not listed as a replacement for the Danfoss 3060. The two...

    I have an idea. If you could post that unit to me I'll happily test the timers and put a meter on the outputs. If it does what I want, I'll re-imburse the postage costs.
