    Painting a New Concrete Garage Floor

    Hello I'm about to paint my recently laid concrete garage floor, but the tin says I have to take off a top layer of concrete crust with a wire brush before painting. This sounds like a horrible dusty job, is it absolutely necessary and if so does anyone have any tips. Thanks Lesleyprez

    Parquet Floor

    I am just about to extend my dining room floor, the new pine parquet I have comes from 2 batches 1/2 of it has quite a pronounced grain while the other 1/2 is paler with a very tight grain. Will I get a better result if I mix the two randomly or make up each row of the matching type of grain...

    New blocks are too thick

    After searching for ages I found some pitch pine parquet blocks which matched my existing floor. They are the right length and width but are too deep, which type of saw do I need to cut about 1/4 of an inch off the bottom? Any advice would be gratefully received! Thanks Lesleyprez
