    Heated Mirror Next to Bath

All,, Very brief query regarding heated mirror pads. We are replacing our bathroom and the plan is that we will install a mirror, c. 20cm above the edge of the bath that runs along the wall adjacent to the bathtub. To avoid it constantly misting over, we are considering installing some...

    TV Aerial Socket - Splitter?

There are two aerials in the loft, both feeding into a black box (have not investigated what is in there but assume some sunning wire joining device). From this comes 1 coax cable that terminates in the lounge. Funnily enough, the signal strangth for the telly is about the same whether it's...

    TV Aerial Socket - Splitter?

Hi there - Quick Question about my TV aerial if you'd be so good. We have a loft mounted aerial with a coax cable that is chased into the masonry and comes out in the lounge. The faceplate that is attached has 1 input from this cable and 2 sockets on the front - enabling us to plug in an FM...

    Hello & Thermostats

Sorry Steve, that's my fault, you were perfectly clear but my reply to you wasn't. :) So, tonight: the neutral connection to the boiler will be checked and connected if it isn't there. Then I'll wire the stat up as instructed. Thanks guys.

    2 cold radiators

Thanks for the replies, I'll give this a go. It may be the TRVs need replacing but I guess that's not too big a job. Cheers :)

    Hello & Thermostats

Very many thanks for the reply. The thermostat is indeed rather old so the simple bimetallic strip arrangement seems likely. Also the backbox is plastic, therefore the earth cable may not be connected. I have no idea about the boiler, so will investigate.

    2 cold radiators

Good plan, thank you. I've had a look at the TRVs and while the pin is not springy, it does move up and down. Presumably this may mean the actual valve is stuck shut and the pin is just floating with no influence on flow. Tme for the old friend WD40.

    2 cold radiators

Hello there. Bit of a strange problem with a couple of radiators on the top floor of a small 2 bed house, ie: no heat. The water in the rest of the system is heating fine and the pump does work as the rest of the radiators in the house have no problems. I have bled the rads in question and...

    Hello & Thermostats

Afternoon everyone. I don't usually ask for advice straight after joining a forum however I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to DIY so I hope you'll forgive me this once. Anyway, It's a much repeated question with a slight twist. Here goes. I've just bought a new room thermostat...
