    Leaking Roof Dormer Flashing Advice

Out of interest how would you extend it without it moving with the weather bud. No where to really clip it to. Could glue it but big ask to hold it in place. Is there a better way.

Repointing ridges - waste of money?

I say point them. Done it a good few times before and nine times out of ten have lasted for years. I think the reality is not many people have over a grand to chuck about on rebedding ridge tiles. In an ideal world its the correct way to go about it. But pointing can see you good for...

    Concrete Gutters

Do you plyboard the gutters out first bud or just go in with the contact adhesive. I know that the water based stuff reacts with felt etc...unsure if the contact adhesive is the same tho.

    Problem roof.

That on the right of the parapets joins onto another flat roof thats been refelted recently. Not sure why its been built that way. No idea. Know the guy that built it was a jack of all trades guy tho. Its a mum of a good friends roof. Any ideas of how to get round it and make it water...

    Problem roof.

Good thinking actually. Toyed with the idea. Think the problem is the outlet on the flat roof is the opposite end and its a pretty small outlet as well. Also that plastic on the roof finishes pretty tight to the bottom...you cant even see the outlet...can only get your fingers in slightly...

    Problem roof.

Agree. Theres no end cap on it tho. The purpose from the guy who built it was to use it to drain the main gutters onto the flat roof outlet to drain away. Theres no other downpipe on them main gutters. Hes directed the water onto the flattish roof by design. Think once upon a time there...

    Problem roof.

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for the roof below. Extension built years ago. At the time the guy done away with the downpipe of the main house and seems to have redirected the water to a small diamater downpipe on the extension roof. Currently its going down to the flatroof...

    Poor tradesman

Think it is pretty common tbh. A lot of guys out there are good at their job....but just not great at running a business. Work can stack up quickly..can quickly go from no work to too much work....trying to manage it isnt always easy. Especially when its difficult turning down work...a lot of...

    Moulde gutters

Pretty sure that will be right. The felts definately perished anyway. Thinking best way forward....strip the roof. Re felt. Re use the slates. Fit new zinc or lead. Renew the timber. Fit new moulded cast iron. Re roughcast the bay window. See between the felt at the eaves and beneath...

    Moulde gutters

Thanks a lot mate. Much appreciated. Think i will advise a strip and refelt. Hate these sort of jobs cause start getting pricey for the customer. Already dreading telling her how much the new replacement cast iron gutterings going to be.

    Moulde gutters

Hi. Wondering if anyone can help. Needing to replace cast iron guttering attached pic if any help. Usually replace most gutters but never replaced ones like these before. They,ve had a few people out to look at them but no ones came back after seeing it. So kind of hoping i can get it sorted...

    roof repair myself

I,d say around 5 grand maybe slightly more...hard to say cause it is dependant on location etc. Maybe time to look at getting upvc fascias etc while their up there with the scaffold being up. Its a no brainer for me....pay 5 or 6 grand now then you can relax for the next 30-40 years knowing...

    roof repair myself

Get a roofer in mate. Some jobs can be done yourself....roofings not really one of them....safely anyway. Need more detail....scaffold will probably be needed other times roof ladder is sufficient depending on height/pitch etc. Problem with that is if you rebedding the ridges or putting on...

Blocked Down pipe from guttering (Plastic)

Not sure that is one piece. A roofer would be able to disconnect that from the top without too much trouble i,d have thought. Then remove it from the top down. Unless its glued together. The downpipe is relatively cheap to replace tho worst case scenario. Think that would be the better...

    Ridge tile repair (moved)

Tbh as a homeowner i,d happily pay 100 to get that fixed regardless of a storm or not. 50,s probably too low tbh. Bearing in mind the roofer has to come to the job. Then probably go to the roofing supplier to get the correct ridge. Back again. Put up a ladder. Put up a roof ladder. Get up...

    Moss on roof

Yeah true pal. But its not exactly 60 years moss free. Moss is growing at a rapid pace nowadays. Theres roofs coated in it after twenty years. Do you just stay with a roof full of moss till its time to re-roof in forty years time? Moss blocking the gutters. Falling on the garden etc. Roof...
