hi guys tackled shower this morning. turned off all the power at the fuse boxes, took apart the ceiling fitting & saw that one of the neutral cables had a kinda worn look about it. Luckily i had plenty of cable to play with, so i snipped off the bad part to a good bit of wire & put it all...

thanks for the advice. dont have or know anyone with a multimeter. i'll just head off to b&q, see if a new ceiling fitting does the job, if its not the fusewire.

all i did was just have a quick look at the fuse & it appeared ok. maybe i should put a bit of new fusewire in first then

hi desl - i have the traditional type fusebox, rewireable. actually now that u say it, the switch does need a slightly harder pull to get it into the 'on' position. So a new ceiling switch/fitting could be in order then?
