    Agreed, have SP2 slipstreamed onto a recovery disc. Google for 'Winlite' for DIY slipstreaming recovery discs which allows you to reinstall Windows with many settings personalised so you don't have to start over.

    What is the make and model of your laptop? Some laptops have s-video output to connect to your TV What add ons do you have to make your laptop a PVR (capture card..) ? If you wish to record from TV to your laptop, you will need send a signal to your laptop to be captured and stored.

    slow start up

    I would uninstall Norton personally! It is a big, resource hogging program with lots of little bits going on that you can't see. Apps load at startup (slowing boot time), bits will run while you are using your internet connection (slowing surfing speed) and it will probably be scanning...

    Daylight through gap in door!

    It is a job I have put off for too long now and as its winter, it is now a bit of a problem! I have double glazed, pvc patio doors - (not 3 way openers, just straight out door type openers!) When I open the door, I have to practically lean my body weight quite sharply on the left hand door...
