Pump/Fan when boiler is disconnected from power supply!

The power supply to the whole site is disconnected - to what should I plug it into? It is a static caravan (not a towing caravan) and therefore I do not know about inverters?

Pump/Fan when boiler is disconnected from power supply!

I have a static (holiday) caravan that is fitted with domestic central heating via a Combi Boiler. For 6 weeks a year (17 Jan - 7 Mar) all mains connections to the caravan are disconnected (water, gas & electric). I have no choice in this, it is a site rule, and is carried out by the site. I...

Central Heating Boiler in Holiday Home (Caravan)

It would appear to me, from the comments received so far, that to drain and refill each year is not the way to go, and that adding X500 is probably the best solution - would I have to add this each year or just the once? The services are only disconnected for 6 weeks each year (unfortunately...

Central Heating Boiler in Holiday Home (Caravan)

I have a static caravan that is fitted with gas central heating. For 6 weeks each year I am not permitted to use the caravan (Jan - Mar) and all services are disconnected (gas, water & electricity). How can I protect my gas boiler from frost damage other than to drain it down each year or, is...

    Thermostat on condensing boiler

....sometimes it is just poorly written and, in this instance, perhaps what he meant to say is "I have recently had installed etc, etc". Just by adding the word 'had' puts a totally different meaning on the sentence. I also have had a condensing boiler installed recently (by a registered...

    RF Programmable Stat

Hi Chris_J. Yes I have tried Ebay - they only have the Mech RF Stat for the Greenstar models and not the 24i/28i Junior that I require! Hi simond. Are they really that bad? I have only gone for the MT10RF as it is plug and play (and even I could fit it). Hi again Corgigrouch. Thanks...

    RF Programmable Stat

Hi Corgigrouch. Just done a search of Plumb Centre Online. They do have a MT10RF but it is for the Greenstar i, Greenstar Si and Greenstar CDi models (part number 7-716-192-037). I know this because I have already purchased one in error. The footprint of the Receiver is too big for the 24i...

    RF Programmable Stat

I purchased a new static caravan in December 2006 which came with central heating - a Worcester 24i Junior RSF boiler. This model boiler was then discontinued in August 2007. The central heating in the caravan does not include a room thermostat and I would very much like to add a Mech RF Stat...

    Hot Water

Is it better to set the programmer/timer to constant hot water (thus requiring just the occasional boost), or to time the hot water to come on/off as required (perhaps twice a day)? Is it best to set the temperature on the boiler at its highest during winter (when the central heating is in use)...

    External Controls for Central Heating

I have just had a new Baxi Condensing Boiler fitted (Solo 18 HE). I have a Honeywell Room Thermostat and a Honeywell Programmer/Timer that used to run my previous boiler (a Potterton Netaheat 16/22). The Programmer no longer turns on/off my CH at the set times although I believe it would the...

    Room Thermostat

The room thermostat I have is a Honeywell T6360B (T40). It has room for 6 connections (marked 2,3,4,1,5,6) and an earth. It is wired as follows:- Terminal 1 = Red (live) Terminal 2 = Blue (earth) Terminal 3 = Red or possibly Brown (certainly a shade of the two). Earth Terminals 4,5,6...

    Room Thermostat

Hi Bab. I payed to have the boiler installed and it is certified. The arrangement was for the fitting of a new boiler, pump, 3-way valve and 4 x TRVs - no mention was made of external controls as these were already in place.

    Room Thermostat

This may, or may not have a bearing on the problem? It appears to me that when the hot water is on, either constant or timed, the radiators seem hotter? This could just be my imagination!

    Room Thermostat

It is not a Combi boiler, and I had a new 3 way valve fitted last weekend and, therefore it should not be sticking. I do have a cylinder.

    Room Thermostat

Perhaps I should be a little more honest/open here? When I fitted the room thermostat a good few years back, it kept blowing the fuse (?). To get around this I set both the Heating and Hot Water to constant on the programmer/timer and just turned up/down the room thermostat to turn on/off the...

    Room Thermostat

The problem I have is that the boiler does not appear to recognise the programmer/timer, i.e. it does not turn on/off the central heating at the set times. Did have a conventional boiler but now have a condensing boiler. Strangely, it does appear to turn on/off the hot water?
