No, its not a magnetic tipped bit......those are fine but you have trouble driving any length screw at a distance over a couple inches.... at 4" or more it tends to wobble out of control even with two hands.....this was an attachment that was put on the gun to hold the screw while you stand up...

The other day I was working inside and noticed a guy outside installing a deck at a new home we are working at.....he was using a Dewalt screw gun and had an attachment on it that allowed him to set screws while standing and only using one hand to do so.....it wasn't an auto-feed type attachment...
