bricked up and re-plastered a old air vent, done it myself but a bit rough round the edges where it joins the old wall. think it's bumpy enough it will show when it's painted.

oh, i thought it had to be 12mm thick? everywhere i've looked it said 12mm. do you think i'll get away with 9mm or 6mm? my mate layed a tile floor with 9mm under the tiles and some tiles cracked.

ok so i've replaced the rotten joist now :wink: i'm going to be laying floor tiles on it, i'll be putting 12mm wbp plywood on top of the floor boards but while i got the floor boards up? 1. shall i reinforce the joist with noggins inbetween? 2. can i screw the floor boards down screws...

Hi, Doing my kitchen floor and found that one of the joist's is totally rotten on one end along 1/4 of the joist. Whats best? Replace the whole joist or is there a metal connection plate i can connect the good old piece to the new piece?

Hi, I'm laying boards in my loft and i found the one of the chimleys is being held up with lenths of 4x4, you see my little girls bedroom is underneth and the chimley has been taken away in there so its only those 4x4's holding the rest of the chimley up? surly this is dangerous? how can i fix...
