    bricked up and re-plastered a old air vent, done it myself but a bit rough round the edges where it joins the old wall. think it's bumpy enough it will show when it's painted.

    oh, i thought it had to be 12mm thick? everywhere i've looked it said 12mm. do you think i'll get away with 9mm or 6mm? my mate layed a tile floor with 9mm under the tiles and some tiles cracked.

    Hi, Doing my kitchen floor and found that one of the joist's is totally rotten on one end along 1/4 of the joist. Whats best? Replace the whole joist or is there a metal connection plate i can connect the good old piece to the new piece?
