He was here for 2hrs boxed it off and said "it was the best i could do" and when i checked (almost a year later) to see if there was anything i could do to change it he had the + and - to the bulb cable not directly to the 1's he should of had it connected to

Anything that supplies heat from a thermostat needs a 13amp, i'm a PAT tester and deal with this on a daily basis, the rest i missread

The only things i can think of are 1, the new one has 1 and 2 reversed. 2, the switch has faulty coils. 3, the switch has it's own fuse in the fuse box. sorry i couldn't be more help to you

Check that both your washer and dryer has a 13a fuse, but as above it's better to get a new socket fitted. They still need 13a fuses in both (anything with an earth needs 13a fuse)

Thank you :) It's done there was all the right connections on the landing light i fed it from the loop live to the switch and sw'e live to the light and it works perfect. Thank you for your time in replying to my thread ;) This was edited at 17:06pm
