Are fittings for household gas the same as fittings for LPG kits on vehicles? Seems that these outlets selling autogas components are making a killing on brass fittings. IE: £6 for an 1 x 1/2" to 8mm adaptor, £15 for 4 x 8mm to 6mm adaptors. Surely there are alternative suppliers?? Phill

The mains pipe coming up through the solid kitchen floor is lead. The stoptap has a minor leak and I want to replace it. How can I turn the water off? My guess is that there is an outside stopcock, but I've been living here 10 years and I've never seen one at all. Failing that, would...
