Can anyone tell me how to test the gas valve / solenoid on an Ariston Euro combi boiler and if voltage / resistance needs checking what ball park readings wopuld indicate a defective part?

Reference my question over the non functioning Ariston A23 / A27 Euro combi and the suggested solenoid check on the gas valve, is there a specific test or is it trial and error with a replacement part?

I've got the Ariston Euro combi A23 A27 and it now has suddenly refused to fire up on demand on further inspection it is sparking fine has gas coming in to the regulator but none to the jets is there a sticking valve or some other simple explanation? Also any idea of replacement parts cost if...
