Anyone got an electric (wet) boiler?

Has nobody got any data on this? A useful figure would be an average oil consumption for a 15-19 boiler? I've since found the following figures on the 'net: 1) figure in 10% loss in efficiency for the duty cycle of a boiler 2) 5% loss for transport through the pipes (which would be the...

Anyone got an electric (wet) boiler?

Does anyone in here have an electric (wet) boiler (i.e. plumbed into a standard Y plan system)? If so, can I ask roughly what size property you have and what your 'leccy bills are? (If that's not too personal a question ) The reason I ask is that we are in the middle of an extension...

    Dry lining boiler cupboard

Hi all, I'm having an extension built at the moment, and part of the works involves moving the oil boiler into a single skinned block outhouse that is adjacent to the house. Building control aren't interested in the boiler cupboard (for want of a better term) as there isn't going to be a...

Surrey Flange fitted, now have more air than before!

Thanks for the replys guys. seco: I might reconfigure the vent when I next have a stab at it so that the horizontal section is at the top of the cylinder instead of the level with the loft tank. I guess that "horizontal with a steady rise" means something like 92.5 degrees? Tickly: There...

Surrey Flange fitted, now have more air than before!

From what I'd read, air in the supply to the pump would cause all kinds of problems so to pre-empt the problem I installed the surrey flange to try to purge the system of air as there was (and still is :o ) loads of air in the existing hotwater system.

Surrey Flange fitted, now have more air than before!

Currently it will all go through the pump, but we've having an extension fitted soon with new kitchen so the hot for that will come off of the top outlet of the surrey flange. The shop assistant claimed that this pump (http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/160404) can run the whole house if necessary...

Surrey Flange fitted, now have more air than before!

Hi All, I'm in the process of fitting a wickes shower pump to run a new upstairs bathroom from an existing cylinder in an upstairs airing cupboard, fed by a tank in the loft above the cylinder. I've installed a surrey flange (also from wickes) and have connected up the hot side of the...
