    Ceiling rose wiring

Thanks for your help mate. See pic. It all fits snuggly inside the base plate. I think I may know why I was on the wrong lines. I had everything in place as you described except, the 2 brown wires that are together went into one block the other brown wire on its own. I didn’t realise they all...

    Ceiling rose wiring

Thank you, that was my thought but I wasn’t sure. That being the case, would the switched live go to the live terminal on the new light? Then the other 2 blue neutrals into the neutral on the news light?

    Ceiling rose wiring

Hi everyone Decided to take down the old ceiling rose and replace with a new light and I could do with help with the wiring please - I’m a novice btw. You’ll see on the photo the original wiring when I took the cover off the ceiling rose. The new light is very simply a neutral and a live so...

    Yale HSA6200 problem

Hi, Checked and the batteries were in wrong, i had them under the wrong metal prong :) The sensor now works fine, but cannot get the siren to recognise the keypad. I have set into learn mode via the Keyfob, do I need to put the siren in learn mode from the siren itself? Thanks Richard

    Yale HSA6200 problem

Thank you for the quick reply, I will try all this in the daylight tomorrow. Just to say, in terms of resetting the code on the keypad, when i press anything on it the light does not work, it is as if it has no power. Same with the sensor. Thanks Richard

    Yale HSA6200 problem

Hi everyone, I have a Yale HSA6200 wireless alarm and have a problem, the keypad and one of the door sensors suddenly stopped working at exactly the same time. The door sensor was flashing, which i presumed meant it needed a new battery...duly changed and now it doesn't work at all. The...

    Bathroom fan - which one?

Hey, The really cheap VA100XH I found has now gone...aaaaaagggghhhhh!! Never mind, have looked on the link you sent and at the bottom of the page under 'operation' it states that the VA100X is turned on via the light switch? I presume that is optional and I could just wire it straight...

    Bathroom fan - which one?

Good idea (thank you for this). The existing one (that was there when I moved in) has a pull switch as part of the fan. To turn on simply pull the cord. There is no ceiling cord and it is not attached to the light switch in any way. Cheers Rich :)

    Bathroom fan - which one?

I would presume that it would be difficult to fit one as you cannot get into my celiing in the bathroom , all the wires must have gone in before the false ceiling was put in (before I bought the house). Again, please correct me if I am wrong. I may just need to buy a normal one with an...

    Bathroom fan - which one?

Hey, On some websites it says the VA100X needs turning on via a light switch? Thing is the missus!! says she doesn't want one where it turns on every time you turn the light on. Rich :)

    Bathroom fan - which one?

Hey GaryMo, Please forgive me for sounding really dumb here, I am not technically minded. The VA100XH, which seems ideal for what I want it to do, you say if it has a permanent live (which it would have), is the pull cord internal or external. I ask because if it is internal then it...

    Bathroom fan - which one?

Hi, The VA100 models look great but the VA100x and VA100XH have to be turned on with the light switch, which I can't do. I need one that turns on with the pull cord. Please tell me if I am wrong with the Vent Axia models. Cheers Rich :)
