    How can I extend a metal fence post ?

    I've got a short round metal car park type fence post , I would like to extend it to 5 or 6 ft high so that I can build a featherboard fence on the post. Would that be possible somehow ? I wondered about hollowing out a timber post , slotting it onto the metal one and drill and bolting through...
