flat roof to pitched

Hi, How does BS5534 work for a flat roof running into a pitched roof (such as at a dormer). NHDB 72. S12(e) says run the flat roof up the pitch for 150mm in height (262mm at 35 deg), and provide a tile bottom support at ~150mm into the run, under the felt. But BS5534 says edges are double...
