inline dimmer switch

Hi, Could someone point out the live wire in this black wire for LED lights. I plan to connect a cheap inline dimmer switch which needs the live wire to be soldered . The black wire has one plain black and the other with stippled white dots. Many Thanks Megan '][/URL] '][/URL]
