laminate kitchen plinth

Good morning. I’m about to start laying laminate flooring in the kitchen. I understand I need to go under the cabinets so I’ll need to cut the plinths to allow for the extra height, but do I need to cut the side panels as well? Would a door trimming saw be the best tool for the job?
