paint primer

Hi all, I am looking for some product advice for painting a wood/varnished cot white. Ideally I really dont want to have to sand it as it will be a bit of a nightmare dealing with all those spindles! I was recommended Zinseer B.I.N primer, but after speaking to their technical department...
