Hi my in laws bought a 04 reg mondeo 2 yrs ago ,2months ago it went it limp mode and the diog said it was the map sensor .never bothered to replace it and all of a sudden the turbo juddered and started working again. could this of been the accuator sticking in the turbo itself ,as i believe once a map sensor has gone its gone right?????

PS. They were stupid enough to buy an ex reps car with 90 odd 000 miles on it

Limp mode wouldn't stop the turbo working.

Diagnostic fault codes do not always identify a faulty component frequently they only identify the component operating outiside it's design parameters which is why you get a turbo boost fault when and intercooler hose is off.

Better a 6 year old 90k rep's car than a 6 year old 9k granny's car.
