Adding Smileys

I would like a smiley on my signature.
Can you tell me how to go about it please

i typed it in. so for i type 8 ) But i put an extra space in so you could see how i did it

Do you mean like this ? if so, I have put a space in between so you can see it. eg: : D < do this without the space in the middle. You need to put a bracket next to 8 eg. 8 ) without the gap in the middle.
