Hello all. I'm thinking of replacing, or at least removing for a major cleaning, the door seal on an AEG washing machine described as a "72630 update" model. I found some great instructions on this site at http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=65725
back in October 06. Chrisjc, many thanks for the step by step guide. When I got the front panel off though, I couldn't get at the drum side of the door seal (as opposed to the door side) because of a dirty great grey concrete-ish more or less circular object, presumably a weight, held on to the front of the drum with five or six hefty-looking bolts. Does anyone know if this has to come off to get the seal on please? The bolts take a star-shaped key similar to an allen key but star-shaped. I would be grateful for any ideas including can a seal be removed and refitted or is it best / only possible to replace with new? Thanks in advance. Terry. (Just fyi, only other difference from the Oct 06 write-up is points 3 and 4 - on my machine control panel and front of soap dispenser are one piece - minor thing.)
