alpha 240e combi DHW flow valve sticking

can anyone explain please?
When i demand hot water the burners don't fire up for 12 secs and after turning off the tap more alarmingly the burners stay on for 30 secs!
 
It sounds as if the diverter valve is sticking!

I am going to one of those boilers today.
