amana washing machine slow or no agitation

I have this same model and last month our washer was doing the same thing-not agitating the clothes. So I removed the front door of the machine and noticed that the drive belt was dry rotted. Went to Sears the next day and purchased a new one ( replace the tension springs, there are two small ones). The springs keep the belt from slipping and can be changed once you've changed the belt. You will be required to remove the entire motor from the base. The pump must be removed, too! All the hoses must be disconnected. Good Luck!
