My sincerest apologies go out to Ericmark and Matt1e regarding the 3 phase post the other day. I had a complete mind collapse regarding the star/delta connection configuration as my mind was casting back to a problem we had a few years back with a motor that it turns out was rated something like 770V (not 695V !) that some contractors were trying to start star/delta.
Good job I wasn't at work with a mind collapse like that. I'm am pretty clued up on motors as I spent a long time working with star/delta starters, VSDs, Slip-ring (wound rotor motors) and thyristor drives (six and twelve pulse) ..............but I don't know what happened in that post.
