ive turned hot water tap on and the water is coming out warm and sometimes cold any ideas please someone said the diaphram is split

Have worked on an ariston 23 mffi and the diagnostics flow chart stated that it was the flow switch that was wrong. Changed that and the boiler worked for about a week before i got a call back. Changed the £4 hw thermistor and it has worked good ever since . Pity i did not change them both at the same time, the diag. flow chart not much good, same as the boiler.
