Can anyone give me a clue as to why the overheat stat engages of it's own accord when there is no demand on the boiler whatsoever. Heating is in the off position, hot water on standby, suddenly boiler engages, burner doesn't fire and overheat stat locks out.
It could be the central heating/ direct hot water temperture probes are faulty and causing an open circuit. Hence boiler tripping out cause of no way of dissapating heat. The over heat stat is not calibrated right. Ariston's are overly complecated boilers. either ring them up or get a RGI to come round and ring em up. It dont sound like a fault you can sort out.
