Anyone help with this one!!!!!!!!
Baxi 551 boiler "kettling" but only when the central heating pump is switched on. Old primatic tank so cannot put any magic powder in to stop the kettling. Main issue seams to be that the boiler is "over-running the boiler thermostat" I have put a new stat on but the problem remains. Also had to change the pump as it was howling like a banshee!!.The kettling seemed to get worse from that point. The pump I put in was a 5 speed one that my neighbour had as a spare one. I originally set it a speed 5 (the old grunfoss pump was on max. Slowed it down to 3 to quieten it down. Seems to get the flow round ok but as the "plumbers mate" sorry for any plumbers mates on the forum managed to put on the lockshields on whatever side of the rad he fancied and used ordinary tops on the I had to run round and try to re-balance the system all over again.Everyone just tells me to rip out the old system and get a combi put in. Sorry a bit old school here but would prefer to sort out the current system as before the kettling problem started the system ran really well. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks again
