The red light stays on when timer switches on boiler so i do not have any hot water or central heating any idea what the problem could be ive re set the boiler but still will not start its just over 3 years old be very greatfull for any advice

Can you here the spark attempting to light the pilot ?

no you dont hear any spark at all

sounds like the p.c.b needs changing,good idea to change the sensor at the same time..

are the upstairs rads hot and downstairs cold or are they all tepid

no when they worked the temp was the same upstairs and down in radiators
