I have a boiler that will not fire up. I have emptied the condensate tank, which had water in it. It then fired up but switched off after 10 secs, with the 30oC/flame failure lamp lit up. I have cleaned the flame failure probe, but it still will not fire up continuously. Any ideas, Peter58

I have this idea that by emptying the condensate "tank" ( actually a "trap" ) that you potentially have allowed products of combustion to enter the property.

Then by removing the flame failure electrode you have breached the integrity of the combustion chamber.

The only advice that I can give you is to get a competent registered boiler engineer to check the safety and diagnose the fault.
