As title, changed the radiator valve for a thermostatic about 2 years ago, no problens till now.
Seems to leak worst at night when it cools down more.

Anyway, hacksawed a slot in it diagonally at used a scewdriver to cam it open.
Brass ferrule now off, about to clean pipe.
What are the votes for ferrule ytpe to replace? I have coper, plain brass, and one that seems to have external ridged in it?

Does it not matter, if so why did the last one suddenly fail?
A dose of LS-X around the pipe and ferrule before tightening up the fitting didnt work, failed the same night.

I agree copper olives are better than brass ones. Irritatingly though, nearly all compression fittings come with brass olives, forcing you to buy the copper ones separately - and they're not always easy to find
