It's ok but quality is a huge problem because it's still very much a cottage industry. The reason it's difficult to get is because there simply isn't enough places processing the used oil. I'm not sure how much cooking oil gets used in the country but I'd hazard a guess that there's a few million litres a day so supply shouldn't be a problem.
 
Dependant on your make of diesel car, there are several options.
