I have a Halstead Eden SBX 30 boiler with an underfloor heating system. There are 3 Danfoss programmable roomstats in different parts of the house. Two of them work fine; but the third one (in the living area & therefore most frequently used) is not triggering the boiler to ignite when it comes on, when the other 2 stats aren't calling for heat. If I turn on one of the other stats then the heating does seem to come on in the living area as well.

It used to work fine - only a recent problem. Any ideas what's wrong?[/b]

It does sound like the thermostat and it's zone valve may be operating OK but this valve isn't switching the heating demand voltage to the boiler.

Without more details/photos of the thermostat, valves and layout etc it's just guesswork.

if you can identify the relevant valve then (with the lounge thermostat also demanding heating) you could move the lever on the side of the valve to open it manually and see if this makes the boiler fire up.

Thanks for replying. I'm not too good at this stuff - confess I can't see the lever you mention.

Will upload some pics of thermostat, schematic of layout and pics of the manifold to see if that helps.

Got made redundant on Friday, so don't want to call someone out if there's any chance I can sort it.

Cheers!

At first sight it might seem that the actuators for that zone are not opening.

In reality its probably a control problem as you say the boiler is not being given a call for heat!

I doubt that you are going to be able to identify the fault yourself.

All you might be able to do is manually operate the valves for the relevant circuits so they are heated when other zones are on and calling for heat.

Do you even know which circuits are which?

A good installer would have marked them but few seem to bother! An even better one would have left a diagram as well in a folder.

Test thermostat if not faulty test zone valve.
Guess would be zone valve is faulty as these typically fail regularly.

Easy fix.

I have interpreted it as he has no zone valves as such and just the UFH actuators?
