Hi,

I was asking about my Danesmoor 20 oil fired boiler (c1970) over on anther thread but I started a new one for this more specific question.

The main mechanical timer on the boiler is no longer working. It is a simple affair with two wires in and two wires out, that simple controls the availability of power to the system. I have selected this replacement.

It is quite heavy duty but I think it should be suitable. Please advise.

I would also like to replace the room thermostat (sorry no pictures available). It is one of those old Honeywell units that clicks gently as the dial passes the ambient temperature. The switch is therefore quite light duty.

Do you think I can replace it with this frost stat, which is much heavier duty.

The reason I want to use a frost stat is that it is located in a very cold part of the house, which the system is incapable of heating. Thus, if the stat is set to 5 degrees, other parts of the house will be 20. My worry about this switch is that it is probably rated much much higher than the existing stat. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.
