Britony FlexiFlue - switching off while water flowing

The water heater is somewhat old but had a new diaphram 20 months ago.
The current problem is that it intermittently goes off after ~2 minutes, which is inconvenient in the middle of a shower. When it goes off the pilot light also extinquishes.
Any help would be gratefully received.
