Hi guys. This is my very first post as I need a few questions answered. Im a semi qualified plumber (22y/o) but have no experience with bricklaying and garden maintenance etc.

Im rebuilding an existing wall which was used to contain flowerbeds, the concrete goes down into the mud some distance down and I have taken the old bricks to one course above ground level. I plan on using patio bricks to build the remainder of the above ground part of the wall.

My questions are:

1. The patio bricks have grooves on the sides so i cannot lay them with the sides facing outwards. Im thinking either having the large face of the brick facing outwards or the little ends of them but that would the use more bricks.

2. Do i need to dig a new trench and lay new concrete or just use the existing wall suports?

3. I have 1000 patio bricks or normal brick 10x20 so what m2 area of wall can that make? Thanks guys.
